About Spooktacular Poker Run

Purpose

This poker run is being organized as a community event for locals and for others to visit our Nye County Desert Areas. In addition to raise funds for Pahrump Disability Outreach Program (PDOP). This event will bring revenue to our town and community, all while having fun and enjoying our beautiful desert scenery. This event will generate business for hotels, RV parks, casinos, gas stations, stores, resturants in addition to the local vendors and others participating in the event.

Activity Description

This is a 2-day event starting on Friday night with a parade of lights on side-by-sides, leaving from Ian Duetch Park traveling down Pahrump Valley Boulevard, over Highway 372, continuing to Wilson/Dahlia and ending on Basin at Petrack Park. After the parade the side-by-sides will line up for a trunk or treat presentation for children. There will be a haunted house, vendors, food trucks, music and games at Petrack Park, including costume contests.

Saturday morning will begin with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Holiday Task Force, a driver meeting at the rodeo arena stands, and the National Anthem prior to the start of the poker run. The poker run starts as drivers pass underneath our great American Flag held up by Bucket Trucks provided from Valley Electric Association. The poker run which consists of off-road vehicles traveling approximately 70 miles through the desert terrain. The route is marked and there are 5 stops for a game to be played to obtain the poker card for that stop. The midway point, poker stop # 3, will be located in Crystal Nevada. The Poker Run will continue on east of Johnnie/Pahrump ending back at Petrack Park.

After returning to the park, there will be local youth organizations offering car wash services to clean the off-road vehicles for a donation. There will be vendor booths, food trucks, music, games, raffles and prizes after all the riders have returned.
